Invisible City – Technologies of the Body
An exhibition project as a result of a long-term research and collaboration between the artists Amélie Brisson-Darveau, Gisèle Schindler, Riikka Tauriainen, and the curators Işın Önol and Dimitrina Sevova
Oh, yes, as we all know: It’s a process! It’s a construct! It’s not natural! In search of his impossible naturalness Antonin Artaud exclaimed: “Only the human body can be everything.”
The point of departure of this exhibition project is the technologies of the city in their interrelation with the technologies of the body – a body that is submitted to the same processes of gentrification, urban planning and their modulations, as well as to the utopian potential of the imaginary in the context of the virtual as conceived by Antonio Negri.
This leads us to investigate and reflect on the traces of the aesthetic implications of crises, birth control, the reproductive system, biopolitics, the environment, social milieu, geopolitics, epistemology, the problem of housing, habitus and urbanism in relation to how becoming-population and planned control are applied to working-class families, migration or the notion of inappropriate sexuality.

Aufbruch in Ägypten
"Laila, Hala und Karima - Ein Jahr im revolutionären Kairo"
Dokumentarfilm, In Anwesenheit der Filmemacher Achmed Abdel Mohsen, Sandra Gysi und Eduard Erne.
Sie waren im Zentrum des Sturms, als im Januar 2011 der Tahrir-Platz in Kairo bebte, und die alte Ordnung Ägyptens zu wanken begann. Die Theater-Regisseurin Laila Hassan Soliman, die Filmemacherin und Künstlerin Hala Elkoussy und die Choreografin Karima Mansour - drei junge Frauen, drei Künstlerinnen. Ein Jahr lang haben Eduard Erne, Ahmed Abdel Mohsen und Sandra Gysi die Künstlerinnen begleitet, auf dem schwierigen Prozess der Veränderung. Als typische Repräsentantinnen einer neuen, einer jungen Generation, die mit all ihren Sinnen und mit ihrem Verstand längst in einer globalisierten Welt beheimatet sind, wollen Hala Elkoussy, Karima Mansour und Laila Hassan Soliman den Stillstand der ägyptischen Gesellschaft nicht länger akzeptieren.
Die Dokumentation "Laila, Hala und Karima" beschreibt das Jahr der beginnenden Veränderung aus der sehr persönlichen Sicht von drei Künstlerinnen, die als Aktivistinnen mitten im Aufbruch standen. Aufwühlende Geschichten aus dem revolutionären Kairo.
